HSBB signing delayed(Update 2)

Looks like the signing of the HSBB project is taking so long.

According to a Senior official of MCMC, the signing was delayed for 3 reasons.

First, TM and MCMC is still negotiating the HSBB agreement. It seems that MCMC is trying to understand the term “Open Access” that TM is talking about. Open Access allows other ISPs in this country to offer high speed broadband service utilizing the HSBB.

Second, its is believed that the signing will involve the Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) of Malaysia and looks like the DPM has a tight schedule.

Third, the second decision might be related to this reason. The recent price hike could have been the reason the Government of Malaysia is delaying this project since it involves some 2.4 billion.
