Soft Launch of XOX Prepaid

Look like someone has quietly soft launched their services.

XOX, a MVNO operator who has network agreement with Celcom and using the 010 prefix seems to have their website up with detailed info of their new prepaid offering.

As for now, I don’t see any good reasons to switch to XOX. Their pricing are very much similar to Xpax. However, they will have specific contents in the future targeted to the local Chinese community.

Rates:

  • Voice- 36sen to any networks
  • SMS- 7 sen to XOX & Celcom / 15 sen to other mobile operator
  • MMS- 35sen to XOX & Celcom/ 50sen to other network
  • 3G/GPS Browsing(no HSDPA)- RM0.10 per 10 KB

Also, the website claims that the XOX Prepaid starter pack cost RM8.80 and offers 1200 free SMS up to 1 year (within network) plus free RM5 airtime. You can also choose 8 numbers from any network and call them at RM0.20 per minute under the FnF plan.

Being a MVNO operatos does not stop them from offering other Value Added Services such as Missed Call Notification, Balance Check, Call Me Tones, 3G/GPRS, Voice Mail, IDD, International Roaming, Mobile Downloads and more.

XOX is working with 8TV on a project called “Ultimate Power Group” and also Chinese radio station One FM.

XOX started supplying their prepaid packs among mobile phone distributors a few months back but it did not launch the service and it is believed that they failed to meet internal targets for a several time.

All XOX sim cards are 3G enabled and prepaid packs are only available in certain areas(such as Ipoh), call XOX careline at 1300 888 010 for more info.

There has been no official announcement from XOX yet.

(Note: The XOX website is an extremely heavy flash website, I recommend opening it in a separate browser without tabs, IE should be good)

Something i never understand. How come Celcom MVNO like XOX, Tune Talk, Umobile rates cheaper than Celcom prepaid itself ?

Celcom Blue rates is 39sen all network nationwide. Xpax rates adjacent and non-adjacent voice calls are at RM1.80/min !!!

    • Untungsokmo

Yuuppp!!! But as a user we’re looking the cheapest rate offered by provider

As example DymiumXOX rate offered is cheaper than them:

      Same Network ( XOX & Celcom ) – 8 sen/30 second or 15 sen/60 second.

      Others Network – 9 sen/30 second or 18 sen/60 second.

      Monthly giving 150 SMS FREE.
