DiGi Prepaid Unlimited Data Package at RM5

I would like to thank DiGi again for offering unlimited daily data package for its prepaid users. Now DiGi Prepaid users can enjoy daily unlimited data at a maximum cap of RM5(Internet Unlimited Max5 data plan) without the need for subscription.

The unlimited usage only applies between 12am-11.59pm daily and there is a daily usage quota of 100MB. Users who exceed this usage quota will then experience a speed that is throttled to 128kbps.

My opinion:

Two questions for DiGi.

  1. Why is DiGi limiting internet speed at 128Kbps if users exceed the 100MB? TURBO3G at turtle speed for prepaid users?
  2. Are you forcing customers to move to DiGi Postpaid if they want to use heave data ON THE PHONE or use the phone as modem?

I think the Yellow Man is making a huge mistake here. DiGi is telling prepaid customers that they can only use 100MB per day and if they exceed this quota, they will experience slower speed. This is not fair for prepaid users who wants to use more data, and DiGi is not even offering a secondary data package or an opt out option.

DiGi needs to look at competitor’s offering before making such decision for prepaid users. Celcom offered an unlimited weekly data package because their unlimited daily data package was doing very well. DiGi should understand that prepaid users might need to use more data sometimes and they don’t need to be on a Postpaid package to enjoy those benefit.

As for now, DiGi Prepaid users will continue to enjoy slower Internet speed ones they exceed the 100MB daily quota even if they want to pay more.

TURBO3G? I don’t think so. Time to improve DiGi.

Digi has limited capacity and resources. Even though if you use RM5 daily, which amounted to RM150, monthly, prepaid users are not appreciated. Prepaid users for Digi is second class users even though payments was paid in advanced and sometime money being deducted through strict terms and conditions. Still DIGI push hard to get as much as possible from the low income users. DIGI treats low income users as second class and still tries to siphoned credit as much as possible without giving a second thought in their one sided terms and conditions (T&C). You don't have to believe me, just go to DIGI website and read the T&C for prepaid and related services to it.
