Nokia buys mobile browser firm Novarra
Nokia has acquired a privately held mobile browser firm in the US called Novarra Inc.
Nokia said it will use Novarra’s mobile browser and services platform to improve its mobile Internet offerings. The company plans to offer a new service that incorporates Novarra’s technology later this year.
Nokia did not disclose the value of the deal but said that it expect to finalised the acquisition by the end of June 2010. Novarra, based in Chicago employs more than 100 staff.
