New Postpaid Plan from DiGi called DG Smart Plan

Thank god this news came from DiGi’s official channel and did not “leak” out from their iPhone team this time.

DiGi will be launching a new postpaid plan called DG Smart Plan, this 15 April 2010. It cost RM68 a month and customers get to enjoy unlimited data usage. Voice and SMS are charged on a Pay-per-use basis.

Also in conjunction with the launch, the BlackBerry Curve 8520, HTC Legend or BlackBerry Bold 9700 will be available for as low as RM549, RM999 and RM1,299 respectively.

Press Release after the jump.

Starting from 15 April 2010, DiGi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd (“DiGi”) will be implementing Malaysia’s first all-in-one postpaid plan that encourages smartphone usage under DG Smart Plan: The Smarter Plan for Smartphones.

Explained Loh Keh Jiat, Head of Product Marketing: “The social media platform has created a population that wants to stay connected wherever they go. What we are offering is ‘liberating’ internet on a mobile platform even further – by providing easy and affordable access plans that fit our customers’ individual and business needs.

“Analysts have indicated that the local smartphone market will enjoy growth rates of 11% to 13% in 2010. Together with our all-in-one plans that combine both voice and internet rates, DiGi postpaid customers will find it more convenient to use mobile internet in their daily lives. In living up to our promise to deliver relevance and making it easy for our customers to enjoy best value rates, we also provide subsidies to selected smartphone models.”

Customers who sign up for DG Smart Plan only need to pay RM68 per month to enjoy unlimited internet access while voice calls & SMS are charged on Pay-As-You-Use basis.  This means customers can now enjoy the unique benefit of not having to commit to any monthly call usage.

To further encourage mobile internet habits, high usage subscribers under DG Smart Plan will enjoy 25% discount and 100% discount off the RM68 monthly fee if their total usage is more than RM100 or RM200 respectively within the billing month.

Customers who sign up for DG Smart Plan can also save up to 50% on our range of subsidised smartphones, comprising BlackBerry Curve 8520, HTC Legend or BlackBerry Bold 9700 for as low as RM549, RM999 and RM1,299 respectively.

    Hello there..I like your comment.

Well at least I have a real name not hiding behind some “biznews”…sound like Bursa Malaysia to me…..

As for the iPhone, thanks for your kind information.

Kaspersky is fine. Feel free to drop by my office, I can introduce you to her.

Also before you comment on this blog again, consider using a different broadband service other than DiGi? Because I can easily guess who you are.

Appreciate if you don't visit my blog again…

i wish celcom have similar plan too, well celcom currently had their CEP250 all in one package, but the voice/sms usage is not pay per use. instead its only normal postpaid plan but come with free data service.

i really would like to now what is the call/sms rates for digi smart plan, its like having a broadband simcard but able to make call/sms hehe.

    DiGi always the smarter choice… EPOOL86, i think its 15c for voice, 10c to sms & 20c to mms….

Will u leave Celcom for this?
