50% more Maxis coverage in Kelantan, Pahang & Terengganu this year

Maxis is expanding its broadband coverage in Kelantan, Pahang & Terengganu this year with 50% more coverage.

New coverage areas for Maxis Broadband:

  • Kelantan- Bachok, Kerteh, Panji, Pasir Mas and Peringat
  • Pahang- Bentong, Kuantan and Temerloh
  • Terengganu- Chukai, Dungun, Kuala Berang and Kerteh.

In the past few months, Maxis said that it will be increasing its HSPA and HSPA+ coverage areas however there were no mention in the press release on what technology will be used for those new sites.

Maxis customers may now enjoy higher speeds in accessing the digital realm on the go thanks to extended broadband coverage. Maxis is committed to building 50% more sites in 2010  to improve broadband coverage in the region.

Customers may now enjoy Maxis broadband coverage in major towns in Kelantan such as Bachok, Kerteh, Panji, Pasir Mas and Peringat; in Pahang such as Bentong, Kuantan and Temerloh; and in Terengganu such as Chukai, Dungun, Kuala Berang and Kerteh. In 2009, Maxis established broadband coverage in the major towns of Kuantan, Kuala Terengganu and Kota Bharu.

In addition, Maxis will continue to improve existing broadband coverage in the East Coast in the following areas: in Kelantan (Tanah Merah and Tumpat), Pahang (Maran, Pekan, Penyor, Raub, Rompin and Semantan) and Terengganu (Nerus, Marang and Pantai).
