i want a broadband service that can give me stability and speed no matter where i go. A broadband that puts my convenience first for the price that i am paying. I want a broadband that can give me one package for home usage and on-the-go usage. A house modem for home and a dongle for on-the-go. This is because a house modem has better reception transmission than a dongle in the house..and a dongle because it is light weight and has better reception in the outside. One package for both these devices for ONE price. That would be perfect. Life would be so convenient.

I, my husband, my youngest brother and my friend (Jen) sign up with Celcom package (they came to our company to promote the package), we ask them before signing: "Is there going to be any hidden charges other than the monthly commitment/package fees RM150?" The sales person very confidently says NO. I asked again: "Sure". Answer: Yes, no hidden charges. Don't worry.

It really FRUSTRATTING when the bill comes. My husband got additional charge of RM30 a month for blackberry license (HE NEVER USE A BLACKBERRY PHONE or BLACKBERRY SERVICE!). I called the customer service and they say "........ Your husband must go to one of the branch to cancel the RM30 blackberry license charges. It cannot be done via phone call."

My husband is a very busy person. That is why he never got time to go handle all this NONSENSE. Today, he is going overseas and I realised that there is a celcom branch in KLIA. I asked him to take some time to go there to cancel the blackberry license thingi...guess what, he was told IT CANNOT BE DONE HERE! You better to to PJ Branch to do it coz the branch here is small. !!!!!!! [Idiot.... to the max. ]

I called the customer service via phone again, she was quite good (hopefully she take the effort to help me by giving me a SOLUTION not just talking to me only). She says, KLIA branch should be able to do it. What???( I don't think Celcom train their customer service). THey are there just to make sure the calls are answered and not to solve customer's issues. When I say the staff in KLIA branch say cannot be done, please go to PJ branch. Then she ask me please go there and try to cancel the RM30 charges. (Haha...HAHAHA... why have branch in KLIA then?) Okay, my husband is so ANGRY now. He also says OKAY, I'll find time when I get back from overseas. We will definitely sort this out. (I hope PJ Branch will not give me funny funny answer then....)

If I continue to write, it will be many many pages....

My friend Jen and my brother's issue is that they signed up the same package as my husband, Thank God, no hidden charges of RM30... BUT... the package suppose gives them free calls. Both of them was charged for all the calls they made (on top of the commitement fees. NO FREE CALLS!). My brother called the customer service to complain and asked them to solve the issue, the problem was never solved even though after few complains were made. Finally he went to Menara Celcom with his bills and guess what. They took his bills (copy) and say they will look into it and refund him. After a month, no action. Called customer service, no record, please go back to Menara Celcom to see the person in charge. WHAT???

How much time, petrol and energy is wasted for doing all this thing for Celcom's mistakes! No record when complain is made. Everytime you call, you need to spend 20-30 minutes explaining to them again and again what happened (for every calls you made, you need to answer their question to verify your identity and tell the whole story of your issue again). Want to solve your problem??? Can... call / come a few more time.

I am a real frustrated and unsatisfied customer. Bad experience with Maxis sales person yesterday .... (wanna tell the whole story but my energy and time will be wasted...).

Registered for my office phone line under company's name. Wanted to change it to my husband's personal name for the billing (for some business reimbursement purposes), TMnet customer service gives wrong answers 4 times which made me:-
1. were asked to wrote a letter of request and fax to them (no action was taken)
2. were asked to write a authorisation letter to represent my husband for the change of name and I can go to any branch to do it
3. I went to the branch and was told that I cannot represent my husband even though there is an authorisation letter.
3. went to their branch with my husband to change the billing name (cannot pay the same day for the phone deposit. must come back another day. they will call me. I confirmed that I can represent my husband to do the payment later...)
4. TMnet called me and say my husband must go and make payment himself coz he need to sign the agreement!

What a stupid customer service system we have in Malaysia ... telco companies only ???. We got a LONG LONG WAY to go in order to be called a developed country... we should not go for the recognition alone. We must change our attitude towards people, services. Give the right answer/solutions and not just focus on getting the work done (no solution at the end of the day).

Lately it seems the Maxis 3G service is getting quite decent speed, clocking average of 1.5mbps on Speedtest.net app on iPhones. Testing nearly +2.0mbps inside Hilton, Renaissance hotels, in the daytime in a conference too.... sometimes, its so fast that I stop using the cheapo free WiFi at Starbucks.

I am a UK expat and have been travelling in Malaysia for the last month and signed up to Celcom mobile boroadband package as soon as I arrived in JB from Singapore.

I have been struggling with the on/off nature of the Celcom 3G service for that month and am glad to find (in this post) that it is not my PC (or my imagination!). Frankly the service is appalling.

I get download speeds (general web activity not MP3 downloads) of anywhere between 500B/S and 60Kb/S - THEN periods when the network delivers ABSOLUTELY NOTHING for seconds or even 10's of seconds. It s clearly stretched to breaking point!

I got better and more consistent 3G/HSDPA in Vietnam - and that is an indictment of the Celcom product. I loved my time in Malaysia - it is a great country - but as far as my experience as a tourist have Celcom let you down seriously. They are taking "money for old rope" from their subscribers.

What are there to comment? I have been going thru all the forum sites about how bad the internet broadband service is in Malaysia. Some of the comments dated back from year 2007.
As you can see no matter how many comments we made is no use if the government is not going to do anything. I think the government do not know what to do with problems that the subscribers is facing.
So we need a solution and then tell or suggest to the government what to do, as I believe the current PM likes the citizen to give alternatives solutions or constructive suggestion that works.

Me! I tried all four 3G ISPs and they are all slow at night and weekends, except for Celcom, which is slow both day and night, weekdays and weekends, you cannot tell the difference (albeit getting HSDPA/3G signal).

I wonder which ISP said that...
