196,000 subscribers on P1 WiMAX, RM150m more on network upgrade

WiMAX operator, P1 WiMAX currently has a subscriber base about 196,000 and plans to increase it to 280,000 by the end of the year.

According to its parent company Green Packet, it plans to spend a further RM150 million for its network upgrade this year which bring up the total spending to RM250 million. So far RM100 million has been spent in the first half of the year.

“We have the resources to fund these investments. Our partner SK Telecom has committed a certain amount and there is RM500 million from our vendor ZTE (Malaysia) Corp Sdn Bhd,”  said group chief executive officer Puan Chan Cheong, reported Business Times.

    Glad that they spending on upgrading their network too instead promoting the potong ads.

    Anyway the new modem really looks cool. :)

    I’ve heard fr friends who subscribed to P1 that their network sucks! Is tht still the case?

      Yes, i am unfortunate P1 subscriber. My area is with 4 base station, but still i get very lousy connection with high latency Dont waste your money on wireless technology. Just get a wired broadband line instead
