Celcom to offer iPhone 4?

Too late for Celcom? Maybe not. Rumor out there says that Celcom is in talks with Apple to bring in the iPhone 4 sometime next month to Malaysia.

I’m not sure whether a contract has been signed so far but even if it has been signed it wouldn’t be easy for Celcom to get iPhone 4 stocks from Apple.

Even right now, the green/red and yellow operators does not seems to be satisfied with the current iPhone4 stocks that they have.

A Celcom senior executive declined to comment. The last time I spoke to Celcom(sometime last year) they said that they are interested to offer the iPhone and has been in talks with Apple.

The question here is- Will Celcom be aggressive to beat the current iPhone4 pricing?

    its never too late to the market, in fact later better than earlier… look at what digi n maxis package, the offer lower …

    most important is to benefits consumer and loyalty to whoever is cheapest la… but i doubt digi can make up coverage issue la…

    if celcom want to retain their customers and to avoid port-out, iphone 4 is the way. So wait no more and offer us the iphone 4 with unbeatable pakage.

    I was actually thinking of changing plan and iphone 4G soon since I like to use my smartphone to online Facebook, but it seems like it’s not really worth the value since its expensive unlike Digi/Maxis who offer at least 1GB bandwidth…

    u guys no need to wait lah just buy ip4 anywhere..cut ur celcom sim & put into ur ip4..like what i’m doing right now. I’m on the exec RM20 plan (for voice call) + unlimited bbnd RM68 (for internet) = RMRM88/mnth..speed is average 799kbps most of the time in Kuantan. By the way..i’m on my pc right now doing tethering for free..heheheheheeee…

      Jason, as much as I want to believe that… but this rumors has been going around for about… a few months already? And if Celcom really intend to launch on 20th which is today, they must’ve already launch the pre-booking page on their main site. I didn’t see any today. Have you?

    I heard too. But the other way round. Apple staff told me that Maxis control the stock of iPhone 4. Even Apple store don’t have stock as much as that particular operator have. That’s why Apple co-operate with Celcom.

      hope celcom does it’s best to release it soon with a superb package!
      And follow it with iPhone 5 later on….
      I believe celcom’s network will provide the best ever iPhone experience in Malaysia (but the package must be great too)
