The Blackberry PlayBook has received FIPS 140-2 certification for deployment within U.S. federal government agencies. Research in Motion(RIM) will launch seven BlackBerry phones with the next-generation Blackberry 7 operating system this year to meet its financial goals. RIM’s share price has fallen more than 50% this year. The company is presently valued at $13.6bn, compared to its August 2008 high of $75.2bn.
