Ericsson has sued ZTE Corp for alleged infringement of several of its patents in handset and network technology. The lawsuits were filled in Britain, Germany and Italy. According to ST-Ericsson, the cost of LTE(4G) devices will come down in just two generations or 2-3 years, compared to the four generations it took with HSPA. ST-Ericsson is a 50/50 joint venture of Ericsson and STMicroelectronics. Watch the video interview after the jump.

Impressive! Ericsson has set a world record at the recent GSMA Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. It managed to hit 84Mbps on HSPA and 1.2Gbps on LTE/4G. Similarly last year in March 2009, Ericsson set a world record on HSPA at the speed of 56Mbps. Full press release after the jump.
