Analysts Expect Samsung to sell 60 Million Smartphones this Quarter

UBS financial analytics estimate that Samsung Electronics will sell 61.5 million units of smartphones in the October-December period this year, up 5 percent from an estimated 58 million in the previous quarter.

Microsoft Malaysia previews Windows Phone 8

According to Microsoft Malaysia’s Melvin Tham, who leads the Consumers Channels Group, one of the new features in Windows Phone 8 is Live Tiles. Users can arrange the iconic Start screen however they want by pinning their favorite people, apps, music, games, photos and more. Three sizes of Live Tiles and 20 bright color choices including cobalt, crimson and lime are available for users to personalised.

Google Maps App for Apple iPhones?

A recent news report claims that Google is working on a new Maps app, believed to be used on Apple’s iPhone that runs iOS6.

According to The Wall Street Journal, Google has distributed a test version of its new mapping app that will work on Apple’s iPhones to some individuals outside the company, quoting an anonymous source. Google has been putting the finishing touches on the app before submitting it for approval to the Apple iTunes store, this person said, though it’s unclear exactly when that will happen.
