Sources close to MalaysianWireless indicated that Maxis ordered the most iPhone 5 units in Malaysia followed by Celcom and DiGi. The estimates are that Maxis ordered more than 100,000 iPhone 5 while Celcom ordered 20,000-40,000 units followed by DiGi with 10,000-20,000 units. Some of the shipments have already arrived in Malaysia. [...]

Samsung Galaxy S III gets Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update

More than 30 million Samsung Galaxy S III out there will be receiving the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update. The new update is being rolling out in phases(via Samsung Kies and Over-the-Air) and the first county to get the firmware is Poland.

Nokia Lumia 620 with Windows Phone 8 Announced

Nokia today announced the Nokia Lumia 620, the third and most affordable in its range of Windows Phone 8 smartphones along side the flagship Nokia Lumia 920 and mid-range Nokia Lumia 820.

The company said in a statement that the the Nokia Lumia 620 uses a new dual-shot color technique to deliver a variety of striking color and texture effects. Dual-shot adds a second layer of colored, transparent or translucent polycarbonate on top of a base layer to produce secondary color blends and depth effects.  With seven different exchangeable shells to choose from, people can adapt the look of their Nokia Lumia 620 to their own personal taste and style, it said. TM offers Microsoft Office 365 for Malaysia SMEs

Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) has launched Office in a Box with Microsoft Office 365, an enhancement of its existing packages for Malaysia SMEs.

iPhone 5 in Malaysia- Maxis & Celcom Registration of Interest(ROI)

Maxis and Celcom both have started accepting Registration of Interest(ROI) for the iPhone 5 in Malaysia. DiGi on the other hand has indicated on its website that it will offer the iPhone  5 “soon”. The iPhone 5 will launch in Malaysia on December 14.

iPhone 5 Malaysia launch confirmed on December 14

Apple has confirmed that the iPhone 5 will be officially made available in Malaysia on December 14 and more than 50 countries this month. The launch date was first reported on MalaysianWireless.

Apart from Malaysia, Apple announced that the iPhone 5 will be available in South Korea on Friday, December 7 and on Friday, December 14 in Albania, Antigua and Barbuda, Armenia, Bahamas, Bahrain, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, China, Costa Rica, Cyprus, Ecuador, Grenada, Indonesia, Israel, Jamaica, Jordan, Kuwait, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Panama, Paraguay, Philippines, Qatar, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Taiwan, Turkey, United Arab Emirates and Venezuela.

The iPhone 5 will also be available on Friday, December 21 in Barbados, Botswana, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Egypt, Guinea, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Madagascar, Mali, Mauritius, Morocco, Niger, Senegal, St. Kitts, St. Lucia, St.Vincent & the Grenadines, Tunisia, Uganda and Vietnam.

Maxis has 13.9 million Subscribers as of September

Maxis Berhad (Maxis) currently leads the mobile market in Malaysia with a total of 13.9 million subscriptions, including a revenue generating subscription base of 12.8 million as of the end of September 2012.

Out of its 12.8 million revenue generating subscribers, Maxis has 9,610 prepaid subscribers(Hotlink) and 3,190 postpaid subscribers(Postpaid & Wireless Broadband).

To date(as of Sept), Maxis has got 19.4k home fibre customers and a total of 631k Wireless Broadband subscribers (including subscriptions on postpaid data plans using USB, WiFi and Fixed Wireless Broadband modems and tablets). [...]

Packet One Networks(P1) has 505,000 subscribers as of the end of September this year.

TIME Records Q3 Revenue Growth of 43% [Press Release]

TIME dotCom Berhad (“TIME” or “the Group”) posted a 43% jump in revenues for the 3rd quarter of 2012, compared to the previous year’s corresponding period, boosted by fresh contributions from its new regional business and higher data revenue from existing businesses. With the integration of its acquisitions complete, TIME is now growing on two fronts: the Malaysian market and the regional bandwidth business.


On an adjusted basis for the quarter, operating profits increased by 67% to RM20.5 million and pre-tax profits rose by 41% to RM19.8 million from a year ago, after excluding one-time adjustments in 2011 and dividend income. For the nine months ended 30 September 2012, excluding one-time adjustments in 2011 and dividend income, cumulative pre-tax profit amounted to RM55.2 million, higher by RM16.9 million, or 44%, from the year-ago mark, due to higher pre-tax profit contributions from the newly acquired companies and higher revenue from existing businesses. Two New TM UniFi for Business Packages- BIZ30 & BIZ50

Samsung Galaxy Camera Price in Malaysia- RM1899 [Insider]

Samsung Electronics unveiled the Galaxy Camera late August at the IFA(Berlin, Germany). The Galaxy Camera is not just a normal camera, it runs Android operating system and has a sim card slot with 3G connectivity.
