KTOPIA is a multi-service providers’ open access network that delivers broadband services to certified properties, premises, buildings and residences within identified zones in Kedah, TIME dotCom said in a statement.

Its managing director Datuk Baharum Salleh described KTOPIA as “an ambitious project with the ultimate objective of providing broadband access to everyone in the state“.

The MoU was signed by Kedah ICT Holdings’ chief executive officer Shaharin Saman while TIME dotCom was represented by its vice president of sales services Rusilawati Mohd Noor. It was witnessed by Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid.

Through this project, we are actually working towards achieving the national broadband agenda as outlined under the MyICMS initiative by the Energy, Water and Communications Ministry” Baharum said.

“In the long term, we will see significant improvements in the quality of life of the people of Kedah by having competitive digital infrastructure at their buildings and residences,” he said.

TIME dotCom is currently undertaking a network optimisation project to transform its network to be fully Internet protocol (IP)-based which will, in turn, allow it to offer more solutions and services to the market.-Bernama
