DiGi.Com Bhd has confirmed with Bursa Malaysia that they are in talks with various parties to assess the possibility of strategic tie-ups to enhance their business in the country.
DiGi told the Bursa Malaysia that it would make the necessary announcements if any developments are materialised.
Sources says that DiGi and Time dotCom were in negotiations where it does not involve the management of Time and DiGi.
Khazanah Nasional Bhd is rumored to be in talks with Telenor where part of the deal might include Time dotCom taking a 5% stake in DiGi which in return DiGi gets to use the 3G license owned by Time.
Few days back, Khazanah Nasional Bhd has instructed Time dotCom to put its third-generation (3G) rollout plan on hold.
The “instruction” which place Time in a difficult position where there are possibilities it will lose the 3G license as they are unable to meet the deadline of launching the 3G services.
According to a source, Time has been granted the necessary loans from the bank and has plan to roll-out 3G service in March before it was instructed to put its 3G roll-out plan on hold.
