5 new Android phones will be available from Maxis starting 1st May 2010:
- Samsung I7500 Galaxy- RM1,399
- LG GW620 (Eve)- RM1,499
- HTC Legend (A6363)– RM1,999
- Motorola Droid- RM2,299
- Sony Ericsson Xperia X10i- RM2,699
The phones above are available at a cheaper price(as low as RM799) if you sign up for a postpaid+data plan and a 12-months contract.
In the FAQ section, Maxis said:
“Maxis wants to offer the complete range of smartphones to customers in Malaysia, along with the soon-to-be launched Android™ Market. (app store)“
However no date of the launch where mentioned. Malaysians can download nearly 60 percent of all apps in the Android market for free, so it wouldn’t make much difference when paid apps are made available.
