iPad international launch delayed, by a month

Due to the high demand in the US, Apple is delaying the international launch of the iPad, by a month(in May 2010).

So far, Apple claims that it has already delivered 500,000 iPads, with a large number of pre-order pending, to be delivered by the end of this month.

The company plans to announce pricing and open pre-orders for global markets only on May 10, 2010. Read the announcement by Apple over here.

At the moment, consumers in the US only has the option to buy the 16GB iPad, WiFi-only, for $499.

iSuppli revealed the cost of producing the 16GB iPad was just $259.60, with over 40% of that figure going on the display alone. It is believed that Apple makes $208 on each $499 iPad.
