Maxis Connect -A new social networking site from Maxis

It appears that Maxis is quietly working on a new social networking site called Maxis Connect. It is not something new but what Maxis is doing is to bring a number of social networking site to one place and also directly to Maxis customers (SMS, MMS, WAP, Java client application).

The site is still in Beta and I believe Maxis has not announced it.

More after the jump!

Maxis says:

Maxis Connect allow you to remain connected to your friends and family while on the go via your mobile phone. Know what your friends are doing, where they are, and more, all in the palm of your hand! Maxis Connect will allow you to even notify your friends and family that are currently not on any social networks!

Features of Maxis Connect:

  • View updates from different social networks in one place.
  • Update your social network via SMS or MMS
  • Get SMS alerts from social networks.

At the moment, it seems that Maxis Connect will only support Facebook, Flickr and Friendster(where is Twitter??). You can also manage your Complete Phonebook Backup service on Maxis Connect. More social networking sites will be supported in the future.

Too bad that the service will only be available for Maxis and Hotlink customers.

I notice this error- Maxis claims copyright from the year 2007-2010, but the domain www.maxisconnect.com was only registered in August 2009.

Web- http://www.maxisconnect.com/

Mobile- http://m.maxisconnect.com

Note to other online media: As far as I know, Maxis has never talked about Maxis Connect. Do link back this post if you are blogging/writing about it.

To Maxis- I have lost communication with your corporate communication, please get in touch with me.
