I talked about Maxis mobile WiFi hotspot 3 days back and today DiGi has launched a similar device called MiFi.
Its not available yet but DiGi has started accepting pre-orders until 20 June 2010. Yet I’m not sure why is DiGi calling it “Malaysia’s First Ever Mobile Wi-Fi (MiFi)” when you can’t get your hands on it for the moment. Also no pricing details were revealed.
Specification of DiGi MiFi(Huawei E5):

- Up to 7.2Mbps downlink, 5.6Mbps uplink
- WiFi 802.11 b/g
- up to 4-5 hours battery life
- Supports up to 5 WiFi connections simultaneously
- Weight: 90g
- Plug & Play- Windows OS, No Mac OS support
- Takes about 4 hours to charge while device is switched off, can’t be charged when connected through USB with a PC with data transmission
You will have to sign up for the selected DiGi mobile service plan(not revealed at the moment) in order to buy a MiFi.
