According to Asiaspace Amax on its website, the WiMAX operator said that its “network maintenance” will take 2-3 months starting 1 April 2010.

As reported before, Amax claims that it is doing some “network re-engineering” that caused its network to go offline, but it did not say when the network will be up again, at that time.

The announcement from Amax as below:

Presently we are replacing all our backhauls requirements with microwave links which will cause interuptions in service. Therefore, we have advised
our subscribers to be patient until we have completed the microwave network for a period of 2 or 3 months. If any subscribers wish to terminate
they can do so.

During the 2 to 3 months the subscribers need not pay any charges.-Source

However the notice above has been 3 months old(since 1st April 2010). On the other hand, there has been no response from MCMC regarding this matter.

For the sake of its customers, hopefully Amax will be able to fix their network problem as soon as possible, if not face the risk of losing the WiMAX license.
