Nokia has announced a new touchscreen device, the cheapest Symbian phone in its category. The Nokia 5250 cost US$145(est. RM460) and has a 2.8″ TFT screen with nHD resolution.
There is no 3G, WiFi or GPS and the 5250 relies on quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE for data connectivity.
The device runs on Symbian^1 (Symbian S60 5th edition). Other features include 2MP camera, 51MB of memory on board(expandable to 16GB via microSD), FM radio, Ovi Music Unlimited(in selected territories), a free copy of Guitar Hero 5 Mobile, music player on the home screen and access to email, Facebook plus other social networks.
Nokia claims 18 days of standby, 7 hours of talk time and 24 hours of music playback. Availability is scheduled during fourth quarter, sometime in October 2010.
