Google announced that its YouTube Mobile page has been upgraded and now loads faster. The upgraded site has been available in the US since last month but it is now available worldwide.
The mobile YoutTube site is optimised for Apple’s iPad tablet and recently added support for the iPod Touch iOS version 2. Google says that mobile users with slow 3G/WiFi connection will be able to view YouTube videos in lower quality to ensure smoother streaming.
Users who sign in on YouTube Mobile will be able to create playlists, search query suggestions and use feature to “like” or “unlike” videos. The updated site also adds buttons to share content on sites such as Facebook and Twitter.
I have tested the site and it loads very fast using DiGi 3G on my Blackberry. There were no buffering on videos as well.
Google claims that YouTube Mobile is accessed about 100 million times a day.
