I’m very disappointed to find out that telcos such as DiGi, Celcom & U Mobile are delaying the interconnection process with YTL WiMAX.
According to sources, only TM and Maxis have been co-operative with YTL to interconnect voice service.
The YTL WiMAX voice service will use the 018 prefix. The most exciting thing about this service is that you could answer or make a call from any WiMAX devices with audio and microphone capability. All you need to do is sign in to your YTL WiMAX account on any WiMAX device. Remember Maxis Voice2Go?
Possibly, you can also sign in to your YTL WiMAX account(including voice) from other ISP network such as Streamyx.
Back to inter-connectivity, this is not the 1st time I’m hearing this. Thanks to certain operators like DiGi for delaying interconnection, it caused MVNOs like Tune Talk to delay their mobile service launch during the year 2009. This is an embarrassment to the telecoms industry.
It is also a sad case because as far as I know, Mr.Regulator aka SKMM is only watching and there seems to be no deadline for all the telcos to interconnect with YTL WiMAX within a certain time frame. However I’m glad to know that YTL WiMAX will still launch with or without interconnection with these Telco.
Anyway, here’s the challenge! I will do my best to reveal more about this if any of these telco(DiGi, U Mobile or Celcom) failed to interconnect with YTL WiMAX by the time they launch on November 18 next month. Good Luck!
And YTL, don’t forget to interconnect with P1 Voice, Jaring 015 and those 4 MVNOs.
