The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (SKMM) will introduce a new set of mobile number format with 11 digits effective Dec 15 this year.
The 8+3 format (11 digits) will use the “011” prefix- Example 011 2222 4444.
The public/service providers, content providers, private automatic branch exchange, private branch exchange systems administrators, banking systems administrators and are advised to prepare their systems in line with the use of these new numbers.
Existing mobile numbers are not required to migrate to the new 11-digits mobile number.
