Malaysians will once again be able to experience the latest innovations in mobile when the GoMobile Expo takes place this November 12-14 at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.

Malaysia’s largest mobile lifestyle expo will be the place to see mobile devices and technology in action. From seeing the latest mobile devices in one venue to finding great bargains and a wide range of choices, the expo promises to be the showcase of the best of mobile lifestyle.

Taking place for the 3rd year running, GoMobile 2010 is presented by Celcom Axiata Berhad as the pinnacle sponsor. Celcom is now the country’s most experienced and premier mobile cellular telecommunications company with 10.6 million customers and boasts the widest network coverage covering 98% of the populated areas in the country. Celcom offers a wide range of products catering to all market segments, from multinational companies (MNCs), small medium enterprises (SMEs) to segmented individual groups such as youth, working executives and many more.

“Celcom is proud to lend our support to GoMobile 2010 as it shares our vision of promoting and enabling the mobile lifestyle among Malaysians. We will be showcasing our latest products and offerings during the event that caters to every consumer’s wants,” said Dato’ Sri Shazalli Ramly, Chief Executive Officer of Celcom, adding that consumers should take this great opportunity and visit the GoMobile 2010 Expo as Celcom will also be offering exclusive deals during the Expo.

GoMobile is the perfect place to check out exciting new products and services from mobile phones and accessories to tablets and mobile services and solutions.  Exhibitors will be selling the latest handsets, mobile devices and service packages at attractive prices. To add excitement, there will be free gifts for high value purchasers as well as the opportunity to win mobile devices.

A highlight for visitors this year will be a Phone Museum. Early this year, Mobile World magazine launched a campaign to get Malaysians to lend old phones they were keeping for the GoMobile Phone Museum. The organisers are delighted with the response. Malaysians from all over have joined this effort. Phones are coming from as far away as Miri, Sarawak. Muzium Telekom Malaysia has also pitched in with portions of their valuable collection. Visitors will see old phones such as the rotary dial telephone and early mobile devices such as car phones from the eighties and the ‘brick’ phone. In support of the Government’s call encouraging the development of local content and services, the organisers will set aside a special zone, GoMobile AppStreet that house mobile applications, services and content. This showcase of locally developed content will increase the prominence of the local content industry.

The Ministry of Information, Communication and Culture as joint organiser has lent its endorsement and support to GoMobile 2010 in recognition of its efforts to promote and grow the local mobile content industry. The Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC) and Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (SKMM) are on board providing vital support as Strategic Partners.

Maxis Communications Berhad and Ericsson Malaysia complete the list of Strategic Partners while leading mobile brand, BlackBerry is a Gold Sponsor of GoMobile 2010. AmBank has signed on as Official Bank and Mobile Banking Partner. The bank will be exhibiting its AmGenie mobile banking application at the expo. The support of these parties as well as other partners and sponsors help make the GoMobile Expo and its companion events, the GoMobile Conference and the GoMobile inOvation Awards Party possible.

To promote this event, the organisers are running a fun promotion calling on Malaysians to ‘Get Your Friends to GoMobile”. The top eight people who manage to bring the most friends to the expo will win a BlackBerry Torch or Blackberry Curve 3G phone.
