Apple expects to ship 21 million iPhones in Q1 2011

According to a report by DiGitimes, Apple has the  increased the number of iPhones it expects to ship over the first-quarter of 2011 from 19 million units to 21 million units.

It is believed that Apple will ship 14-15 million GSM iPhones, 5-6 million CDMA-enabled devices with Verizon in the US and also to the Asia Pacific region in the first quarter.

The first-quarter shipment goal for WCDMA iPhones has been adjusted from 13 million units to 14-15 million units, the sources said. The shipment goal for CDMA iPhones, which will be launched in North America and Asia Pacific in the first quarter, is set at 5-6 million units, the sources added.-Source

Apple is set to ship 47 million iPhones this year, according to sources.

In a separate article, Digitimes said that Foxconn is the exclusive manufacturer of the iPad 2, Apple’s upcoming tablet expected to launch in the first quarter of 2011.
