Former DiGi Exec charged with receiving bribes

Looks like Telekom Malaysia does not stand alone. A former DiGi “senior executive” has been charged with 14 counts of receiving bribes totalling RM425,000 from a company called Syarikat Nakhoda Sistem Sdn Bhd, Bernama reports.

S. Stanley, 39, who was the telco’s senior procurement officer, however, pleaded not guilty when the charges were read out to him before Judge Azhaniz Teh Azman Teh.

Stanley, from Bandar Kinrara, Puchong near here, is alleged to have received the money via a Maybank account from Syarikat Nakhoda Sistem Sdn Bhd as an inducement to select the company as a cable and telecommunications equipment supplier to Digi Telecommunication.

He is alleged to have committed the offences at the Taman Kinrara Maybank branch in Puchong between Aug 13 2007 and Oct 22 2008.
