TM Executive Vice-President for New Media, Jeremy Kung said, “HyppTV’s four new channels mark the beginning of an exciting new year ahead for digital lifestyle users of UniFi. These new offerings of international news and Bollywood-based content constitute another milestone in our overall plan to progressively grow our linear channels and our library of VOD content across a variety of genres and satisfy the diverse range of tastes among our customers.”
“With HyppTV, we are offering UniFi subscribers a new viewing experience that gives them more flexibility and more freedom to purchase the channels they want and to enjoy the content primetime, anytime, every time,” Jeremy added.
TM’s HyppTV service was launched in October last year and is available to all TM UniFi High Speed Broadband (HSBB) residential customers as part of the service’s triple-play offering comprising Phone, High Speed Internet and Pay TV services – which include free and premium channels, as well as Video on Demand (VOD) and interactive content.
Since 1 November 2010, UniFi customers have been enjoying great viewing content from as low as RM3 per channel per month for the subscription of Premium channels, and RM8 per title for VOD content. These charges are applicable for all UniFi residential packages.
HyppTV offers VOD services which are divided into the following categories: Latest Movies, Home Cinema, Kids Favourite, Hollywood Premiere Series, Past Season and VOD News – Fokus Hari Ini. HyppTV allows viewers to watch more than 1,000 hours of Hollywood Blockbuster movies and Premiere Series at anytime convenient to them without any fixed schedule. In addition, HyppTV also offers Interactive applications such as Malaysian History, Malaysian Football, Flight Information, Waktu Solat, TED.com and interactive games.
HyppTV currently has 33 channels being offered via UniFi residential packages – 14 that are offered for free while 19 are available for purchase on an ala carte basis. The free channels include TV1, TV2, TV3, NTV7, 8TV, TV9, Hikmah, Channel NewsAsia, Euronews, DW-TV Asia+, Australia Network, Travel Channel, Luxe.TV HD and VOD News – Fokus Hari Ini.
The 19 premium channels are BabyFirst TV, BBC Knowledge, BBC Lifestyle, CBeebies, Channel [V] Taiwan, fashiontv HD, fashiontv, iConcerts HD, MUTV, Screen RED, STAR Chinese Channel, STAR Chinese Movies 2, Syfy Universal, Universal Channel and Warner TV, in addition to the four new channels launched this month. TM is continuously growing its HyppTV channel offering to offer the best programs for all walks of life.
TM UniFi is currently being offered via three residential packages. The residential triple-play packages are VIP5 at RM149 a month, VIP10 at RM199 a month and VIP20 at RM249 a month. The HyppTV service is delivered via a dedicated 8Mbps bandwidth in addition to the subscribed UniFi package so, this will not impact a subscriber’s data experience.
