Google has launched its new Android Market web store for Android 2.2 and higher devices. With the new web store in place, you can browse through thousands of apps available in the Android Market.
Using the same Google Account on your Android phone, sign into the Android Market web store(market.android.com) and you can then remotely install, but not remove, any app directly from the web interface. Clicking the install button brings up a list of your registered Android Phones, so you can select the one you want to install it on.
For remote install to work, your Android phone must be sign on to your Google Account and background sync for app must be enabled. The app will be automatically downloaded and install via 3G/WiFi.
According to a Kaspersky Lab Expert, the new remote install feature means that anyone who gains unauthorized to your Gmail account would allow the attacker to access your Android device as well. For security reason, the expert suggest that Google should give users the ability to turn off the remote install feature.
It is strongly recommended that you use a password with a combination of letters, numbers and symbols.
