Internet usage in Malaysia increased to 41 per cent in 2010 from 25 per cent in the previous year, according to the latest findings of Nielsen Mobile Insight Malaysia 2010 conducted by The Nielsen.
The Nielsen Mobile Insights Survey was conducted between October 2010 and December 2010. It polled almost 4,000 consumers across the nation about their usage of mobile phones and the Internet.
The reseach compnay said seven out of ten (72 per cent) subscribers said better coverage was the most important factor in determining their overall satisfaction with the Internet service providers (ISP), followed by better speed (54 per cent), better quality service (40 per cent) and better rates (39 per cent).
The findings found that mobility was the main consideration for subscribing to mobile broadband where market share for this channel of Internet connection has doubled from 20 per cent in 2009 to 54 per cent in 2010.
