[Insider] HTC Flyer Tablet as low as RM199 from Maxis, with contract

Maxis announced the HTC Flyer(Tablet) and the HTC Desire S yesterday. Price and packages of the HTC Desire S can be found here.

Both HTC devices are exclusive to Maxis and the HTC Flyer will be available starting 12-May-2011 at a retail price of RM2499. Maxis claims that it will offer the HTC Flyer from RM199 but did not reveal the details of the mobile plans.

Sources told Malaysian Wireless that Maxis will probably not limit the number of units of the HTC Flyer that will be available starting at RM199. However at that price, it is believed that the mobile+data plans that comes together with the contract would probably cost a “bomb”.

Currently customers are required to sign up a Maxis Postpaid Plan(Value Plus 50, 80, 150, 250, 500) plus a Data Plan (500MB @ RM58, 1.5GB @ RM78 & 3GB @ RM88) when they buy a smartphone from Maxis with contract.
