DiGi website at www.digi.com.my is temporarily down or offline since yesterday. Millions of DiGi customers out there won’t be able to login to their account online to view, check their bill or get support.
In a response to Malaysian Wireless yesterday night, DiGi said that it is currently investigating the issue and working hard to get the site back online. Statement from DiGi below:
What went wrong and when will it be up again?
We have had some technical issues, and are currently working on rectifying them. We aim to resolve the issue as soon as possible, and expect to periodically normalize all services over the next few hours. Is this part of the Anonymous hacker attack?
We are still investigating the cause of this disruption. Our current priority however, is to ensure full service recovery as soon as possible.
Opinion
However on Twitter, DiGi tweeted and said that the website is only accessible via the DiGi network using DiGi 3G/Broadband for now. Malaysian Wireless is curious about this and have reasons to believe that the DiGi website is probably under DDoS (Distributed Denial-of-Service) attack.
One reason to this is because DiGi could easily trace(the person) if someone is attacking their website using the DiGi network while it takes sometime if the the attack is coming from other ISPs.
Could this be related to the recent attack on 200 websites in Malaysia?
