Celcom Axiata has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (Mou) with Coupon Houz Sdn Bhd (CHSB), the company behind CouponHouz.com.

Via the MoU, Celcom customers are expected to enjoy additional discounts at CouponHouz.com soon. As part of the MoU, Celcom will also develop a mobile app for CouponHouz.com which will allow e-coupon redemption plus mobile payment via Celcom Aircash.
The implementation is scheduled sometime early next year.

KUALA LUMPUR, 23 August 2011 – Celcom Axiata Berhad, the first and foremost mobile telecommunications provider in the country, recently inked a Memorandum of Understanding (Mou) with Coupon Houz Sdn Bhd (CHSB), the owner and operator of CouponHouz.com, on coupon redemption and mobile payment via Celcom Aircash. With this MoU signing, Celcom customers will soon be able to enjoy additional discounts at CouponHouz.com, Malaysia’s fastest growing internet coupon site.
The MoU was signed by Afizulazha Abdullah, Celcom Axiata Berhad’s Chief Operations, Advanced Data and Nizran Noordin, Chief Operating Officer of Coupon Houz Sdn Bhd. The ceremony was witnessed by Mahsuri Sharkawi, Celcom Axiata Berhad’s Vice President of New Business and Nik Emir Sulaiman, Chief Technology Officer of Coupon Houz Sdn Bhd.
“As one of the leading telecommunications service provider in Malaysia, Celcom is constantly introducing new and exciting products to ensure its customers can enjoy the mobility and benefits of Celcom AirCash. With the MoU, Celcom will be working closely with CHSB to facilitate the development, testing and integration of a mobile application for its internet coupon website, www.CouponHouz.com.
With the implementation of the application sometime first quarter next year, our customers will get to enjoy the convenience of e-coupon redemption plus mobile payment via Celcom Aircash. Additionally, they will also get to enjoy greater rewards and discounts on this coupon site,” said Afizulazha, adding that, Celcom will be the first telco to offer the convenience of mobile payment to customers at merchants’ stores via point-of-sale terminal.
“This application will transform the website’s redemption landscape from the traditional physical paper printout to electronic format whereby e-coupon will be delivered directly to customers’ mobile phones. Customers will have peace of mind whenever they receive and use the e-coupon as indirectly they are contributing towards conservation of the environment. Also, this mode also provides customers convenience as they do not have to bring the physical coupon to the retail outlet. With the e-coupon, which is stored in the mobile phone, it can be utilised anytime, anywhere.”
CouponHouz.com has on-going collaborations with the Malaysian Retailer-Chains Association (MRCA) and the Malaysian Franchise Association (MFA). These collaborations would help CouponHouz.com promote deals for more than 6,000 retailers from MRCA and 600 franchisors from MFA.

All transactions will be confirmed via SMS for reference. This method of transacting is applicable via any mobile phone through USSD and is being accepted globally due to its security, ease-of-use and real time response factors.
