iPad 3, a possible name of the upcoming iPad tablet, is set to hit the market in the year 2012 according to an analyst.
“In recent months, there has been rising investor speculation that a new iPad 3 would be launched for the holiday season,” J.P. Morgan analyst Mark Moskowitz wrote in a research note to clients.
“Our latest research continues to indicate that there is no such device slated for production this year. … There are prototypes in the supply chain related to the next-generation device, but our conversations with industry participants suggest that a new device will not be available until sometime in calendar 2012.” he said.
The the first-generation iPad was announced in 2010 and approximately a year later the iPad 2 was announced in March 2011.
While the iPad 3 might not be available this year, it is rumoured that Apple might be working on the iPad HD which is an upgraded version of the iPad 2.
