Maxis & KiddyTrack launch child locator solution

Maxis Berhad and KiddyTrack Sdn Bhd today announced its partnership to launch KiddyTrack’s first-of-its kind child locator solution. KiddyTrack was created to meet the needs of working parents who want to watch over their children but are unable to do so due to busy schedules.

KiddyTrack users will be able to leverage on Maxis’ 3G network service to locate their children or loved ones by sending a simple SMS. Within seconds of receiving the SMS, the system will provide users with a URL link of the Google map that shows the location, as accurately as up to five metres, of the child being tracked.

When the GPS signal is unavailable, the cell-based information by Maxis’ Managed M2M platform can provide the location of the child to an accuracy of a 50 metre radius. In addition, family members can conveniently monitor their children and loved ones via their mobile devices or computers by logging into the KiddyTrack web portal. In case of an emergency, the device can also alert up to five pre-installed numbers with just a press of the SOS button.

Kiddy Track can not only be used to locate and track children but also to monitor the locations of the elderly, employees, pets, vehicles and certain valuables.

Subscribers can get the KiddyTrack Service Plans for RM60 a month for the 24-month plan or RM68 for the 12-month one. As part of launch promotions, Maxis customers stand to walk away with a free iPad 2 for every third KiddyTrack subscriber, while stocks last (terms and conditions apply).
