Update1: P1 will offer HSBB to end users(consumers) in Malaysia. The service will be rolled out next year.

Packet One Networks(P1) is set to sign an agreement with Telekom Malaysia to offer HSBB(High Speed Broadband) services to Malaysians.

As of June, P1 has over 338,000 subscribers using its WiMAX service. Tapping into the TM HSBB network would allow P1 to expand to more areas and offer faster broadband speeds.

As for coverage, some 1,083 sites(WiMAX) have been deployed and more than 900 sites are currently in progress. P1 target to to reach 1,600 sites and 55% coverage in Peninsular Malaysia by year-end.

Sources told MalaysianWireless that P1 is already activating at least 10-15 new sites every week.

There are 3 types of HSBB services: Transmission, Access & Connection. MalaysianWireless is trying to confirm which service will be subscribed by P1.

More details will be revealed this week.
