TM AAG Cable Fault caused by the storm in Philippines

Earlier this month, TM announced that it detected a cable fault on segment 2 of the Asia-America Gateway (AAG) submarine cable network between La Union in the Philippines and Lantau in Hong Kong linking Malaysia to the United States. This results in slow broadband speeds for Streamyx and UniFi customers while accessing international websites mainly hosted in the United States, North Asia and Europe.

Dato’ Sri Zamzamzairani Mohd Isa, Group Chief Executive Officer of TM told MalaysianWireless yesterday that the AAG cable fault is caused by the storm in Philippines.

TM on Twitter said that the AAG cable will be repaired and service will be restored by 29 October 2011.
