U Mobile is currently facing a nationwide network problem. Customers won’t be able to receive, make calls and SMS.
Approximately 12.35pm today, U Mobile posted the below message on its Facebook page and Twitter:
Some 018 numbers are unable to make/receive voice calls & sms nationwide. The rectification is in progress. Any inconvenience caused is much regretted.
Over 250 customers responded to U Mobile on the Facebook status message. Some claims the network problem started in the morning, some claimed couldn’t roam on the Celcom network, some requested refund and some could not use the broadband service.
MalaysianWireless tested U Mobile and discovered that the problem(voice & SMS) still exist at the point of writing. We were also unable to roam on the Celcom 2G network as usual. BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS) appears to be functional indicating an internal issue within the U Mobile 3G network.
We have contacted U Mobile for an official statement.
