Yes Go 4G Installer for Ubuntu(Linux)

The world’s fastest 4G service with voice, Yes4G does not support the Linux operating system. Its Yes Go dongle works only on Windows-based PCs and Mac OS.

In January last year, the company that company behind Yes 4G, YTL Communications Sdn Bhd announced the YTL mYprize Global Developer Challenge with up to USD$1 million for grab. The purpose of this challenge is to create applications, content or devices that benefits Yes4G.

With myprize, the WiMAX operator tells the world that it has big plans for the whole Eco-system of applications, content and devices, unfortunately it has yet to make available its Yes4G service to existing platforms, especially for Linux users.

So a Malaysian developer has decided to do Yes4G a favour, for free. Ahmad Fikrizaman wrote a Yes G0 installer for the Ubuntu Linux operating system.

More details on the installer can be found here.

  • Yes Go 4G Installer for Ubuntu 64bit

Ahmad Fikrizaman expressed his disappointment that YTL Communications has neglected Desktop Linux users despite offering its Yes Go service for Mac OS and supporting Android OS which are both Linux based.

The Yes Go 4G Installer for Ubuntu(Linux) is free to use and Linux users are encouraged to distribute it to others.

P.s: As for myprize, the winners was supposed to be announced last year however the challenge has been extended to more than a year. We have no new updates on myprize and we are not sure what happened to USD$1 million which was allocated for this competition. We hope YTL Communications Sdn Bhd could provide us an update on this.
