Galaxy Ace 2 & Galaxy Mini 2 from Samsung

Korea-based Samsung Electronics has announced two new budget Android smartphones, the Galaxy Ace 2 and Galaxy Mini 2 ahead of the Mobile World Congress(MWC) scheduled next week.

Both smartphones have been upgraded with improved displays, cameras, more storage, and optional NFC capabilities.

Samsung GALAXY Ace 2

The Galaxy Ace 2 is powered by a 800MHz dual-core processor and  it runs Android 2.3 OS with TouchWiz UI 4.0. It has a 3.8-inch WVGA display, 5MP camera with 720p HD video recording support, Wi-Fi with Wi-Fi Direct support, ChatON & various Hub support.

There’s also 768MB RAM, 4GB internal memory, VGA front camera, Bluetooth 3.0, GPS/GLONASS and a 1,500mAh battery.

Samsung GALAXY mini 2

The Galaxy mini 2 will have a 3.27-inch, 480 x 320 resolution display. It is powered by a 800MHz processor, 512MB of RAM, 4GB internal memory.

Other specifications include a 3 megapixel fixed-focus rear camera with VGA video recording, Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n with DLNA, A-GPS and a 1,300mAh battery.

Pricing & Availability

Samsung said that the Galaxy Ace 2 will be available in UK from April while the GALAXY mini 2 will be available in France from March before being rolled out globally.

According to SammyHub, both phones will be available in Netherlands in Q2. Samsung Netherlands has confirmed the Galaxy Ace 2 will be priced at 349 euros(RM1400) and Galaxy Mini 2 will retail for 199 euros(RM800). No local announcement has been made by Samsung Malaysia yet.
