Google Play- Music, Videos, Books & Android Market

Starting today, Android Market, Google Music, Google Videos and the Google eBook store will be combined into Google Play. The new one-stop portal will offer apps, movies, music, eBooks and will be easily accessible using Cloud syncing.

The search giant claims that with Google Play users can:

  • Store up to 20,000 songs for free and buy millions of new tracks
  • Download more than 450,000 Android apps and games
  • Browse the world’s largest selection of eBooks
  • Rent thousands of your favorite movies, including new releases and HD titles

Google said that the Android Market app will soon be replaced by the Google Play app over the coming days.

To celebrate the launch, Google Play will be slashing prices on selected applications, books, music and movies. Unfortunately the offer will only be available to certain countries such as US, Canada, Australia & Japan. Google Play FAQ can be found here.
