Research in Motion(RIM) today announced that the new BlackBerry Curve 9220 & BlackBerry Curve 9320 will soon be available in Malaysia.
BlackBerry Curve 9220
The Blackberry Curve 9220 is basically an upgraded version of the older Curve 8520 which was released in 2009. However even until, the BlackBerry Curve 8520 still holds the record for the highest number of BlackBerry ever sold by RIM.
The Curve 9220 is a basic smartphone but it runs the latest OS7.1. There is no 3G, just GSM/EDGE and the phone has a QWERTY keyboard and a 2.44-inch QVGA display. Other features include 2MP camera, Wi-Fi connectivity, Bluetooth, FM Radio, the microSD card slot(supports up to 32GB) and 512MB of RAM. The BlackBerry maker claims that the Curve 9220 offers music playback up to 28 hours. Talktime is rated 7 hours while standby time is estimated 432 hours.
RIM said that the BlackBerry Curve 9220 will be available from June 4, 2012 via BlackBerry authorised dealers and selected mobile operators. One such operator include Tune Talk which will be accepting pre-orders starting 25 May 2012.
MalaysianWireless has been tipped that the BlackBerry Curve 9220 will be available in the RM600 price range.
BlackBerry Curve 9320
The BlackBerry Curve 9320 is an improved version of the BlackBerry Curve 3G 9300.
The Curve 9320 runs latest OS7.1. It has a 2.44 non-touch QVGA display, a QWERTY keyboard, a 3 megapixel with LED flash, 512MB RAM and 512MB ROM, FM radio and microSD card slot(up to 32GB).
Connectivity options include quad band GSM, HSPA(HSDPA 7.2Mbps, HSUPA 5.6Mbps), WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS/AGPS. It also comes pre-loaded with some social clients and has a dedicated BBM hardware key.
No pricing details yet but MalaysianWireless has been tipped that it will be available in Malaysia sometime July.
