Healthcare Content Services from Maxis & IJN

Maxis Berhad (Maxis) and Institut Jantung Negara (IJN), a leading centre for cardiovascular and thoracic health in the region, today announced its partnership to bring healthcare content services to Maxis customers and create awareness on heart health for Malaysians. Through this partnership, Maxis is providing heart health content to all its customers, which they can access via any mobile phone with SMS features, smart devices or the web.

Details of the services in conjunction with the partnership include:

IJN-endorsed heart health related content
Maxis will offer IJN-endorsed SMS content providing customers with useful information and important health tips related to general heart health, cardio fitness and cardiac diet as a start, in both English and Bahasa Malaysia. Customers will be able to receive all these great health tips in the form of SMSes, 3 times a week at a cost of either RM2 per month or on a per SMS basis at RM0.20 sen per SMS. All a customer needs to do to subscribe to the service is dial *200#, select “Health and Wellness” and follow the instructions for the various options they can choose from.

myHealthy Heart Smartphone App
The new Maxis’ myHealthy Heart app can be downloaded on iPhone and Android devices. Customers can use this app to access free valuable heart health related information and tools, such as pedometer, BMI calculator, Framingham risk score, popular Malaysian food calorie information, common medication for certain heart conditions, medication reminders and also the latest news on heart health. The SMS content package can also be subscribed through this app.

Online Health Portal
In conjunction with the partnership, Maxis also launched its online health portal health.mylaunchpad.com.my, featuring a dedicated Heart Health section with a range of useful content such as exercise and diet ideas, as well as other general health topics that have been provided in partnership with IJN, Men’s Health and one of Malaysia’s fitness gurus, Kevin Zahri.

In conjunction with the partnership, Maxis will be contributing 10% of revenues generated from all SMSes to IJN Foundation for its’ patient assistance programme. IJN Foundation in 2011 has disbursed RM2 million to assist underprivileged patients.
