Currently the My1Content portal is free for everyone including content providers and for end users to download. At the launch, the My1Content portal has 48 applications, 50 movies and animation and music content from 5 local indie bands.

Speaking at the event, Dato’ Sri Zamzamzairani said, “We are proud and excited to launch My1Content, the nation’s premier Content Service Delivery Platform (CSDP). The portal offers a complete digital media value chain and it fuels the development of the local content and applications industry. It congregates content providers, producers, buyers, aggregators and brokers on a single platform, providing opportunities for local contentpreneurs to market their product and creative services. What’s unique about this platform is that it goes beyond marketing exposure, to provide back end systems support such as payment and authentication gateways and billing. This further helps start-ups minimise the need for upfront investment in such systems. TM indeed is honoured to be the Government’s preferred implementation partner to develop this CSDP in establishing a content ecosystem platform for Malaysia to become a content hub for the region.”

“The establishment of this portal is also part of the Company’s commitment under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) agreement in which TM would develop a neutral CSDP platform to act as a digital content marketplace,” Dato’ Sri Zamzamzairani further added.

Dato’ Sri Zamzamzairani told Malaysianwireless that there are no profit sharing or listing fee with content developers/providers at the moment however TM would imposed a 3% service charge once the portal starts charging for contents which is expected sometime early next year.
