Celcom Axiata Berhad signed with three Internet Service Providers(ISPs) namely Jalur Lebar Nasional Sdn Bhd (Jalenas), My Penang Fon Sdn Bhd (PenangFON), and Fiber at Home City Networks Sdn Bhd ([email protected]) to offer Celcom’s home high-speed broadband (HSBB) services to customers in Kuantan(Pahang), Penang and Sungai Petani(Kedah).

The four parties in the signing were represented by En. Afizulazha for Celcom; En. Heikal Mohammed Ali, Executive Director of Jalenas; En. Rashidi Aly bin Abdul Rais, Director of PenangFON; and Pn. Wan Mohalina Wan Mohd, Managing Director of [email protected] The ceremony was also attended by directors and senior management representatives from Celcom and the three signing partners.
Since early this year, Celcom implemented friendly user trials (FUTs) in Kuantan and Penang with Jalenas and PenangFON respectively to fine-tune customer experiences prior to the commercial launch. The commercial launch is expected to be in the 4th quarter of this year.
The commercial service bundle is expected to include Voice over Broadband (VoBB), Celcom WiFi access and content services as value-added services on top of high-speed fibre network access.
Jalenas currently provides fibre-to-home high speed broadband service in Kuantan, Pahang. The company is backed the the state government of Pahang and plans to roll out the HSBB service in Johor Bahru and Melaka. Meanwhile [email protected] currently offer fibre broadband service at Bandar Laguna Merbok at Sungai Petani, Kedah while PenangFON is an ISP that operators in Penang.
Celcom signed with Telekom Malaysia one year ago to offer High Speed Broadband service using the TM’s fibre network. Via the agreement, Celcom will be able to compete with TM’s UniFi, Maxis Home and P1 Fiber services at 83 areas nationwide including Klang Valley.
