China Telecom & China Comservice establish 1st branch in Kuala Lumpur

China Telecommunications Corporation and China Comservice launched their first branch here in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. China Telecommunications Corporation (CT) is the world’s largest wireline telecommunications and broadband services provider as well as the world’s largest CDMA mobile operator. China Comservice Corporation Limited (CCS) is a leading company in providing integrated services for telecommunications, media and technology companies. CCS’s main shareholders include the China Telecommunications Corporation.

“Today we are much honored to announce that the opening of China Telecom first branch in Malaysia. The establishment of this Malaysian branch marks an important milestone in our company’s journeys in overseas expansion. Through the setting of this newly open branch, we aim to further complement the telecommunication industry in Malaysia,” said Mr. Tan Xu, Executive Vice President of China Telecom (Hong Kong) International Limited.

“CCS is committed to be the leading one-stop telecommunication service provider by offering a complete range of solutions and services such as the design and planning of telecommunication network, quality control and operation support to our clients within this region.” Mr. Liang Shi Ping, Vice President of China Comservice Corporation Limited said.

In a statement both companies said with the opening of this new office, China Telecom and China Comservice aim to:

  • Enhance co-operation and explore business opportunities with Malaysian and ASEAN telecommunications operators, and establish Malaysia as a regional hub in telecommunication.
  • Provide communication and integrated information services to enterprises in Malaysia and other companies seeking to venture into the Chinese market.

“We appreciate the strong support from the Malaysian government. The political stability, well developed infrastructure, highly skilled ICT workforce and attractive tax incentives have made Malaysia the ideal choice for us,” said Ms. Lynn Dai, President of China Telecom Malaysia.

“Through the years, offering customers and partners our top quality solutions is integral to us; and the new branch combines the strengths of both companies providing great opportunities for our customers and our talented workforce in Malaysia,” said Benny Li, Vice President of China Comservice Malaysia.

Further adding to this, Mr. Tan Xu pledges the full commitment from China Telecom in ensuring the success of their investment and hopes this will lead to a long lasting relationship as a global partner of Malaysia.

In 2010, the trade between the 2 countries was worth RM146.53 billion and currently China is Malaysia’s biggest trade partner.
