U Mobile has started offering its MiFi(Portable WiFi Modem) for prepaid users.
Comes at a one time price at RM379, the U Mobile Prepaid MiFi bundle comes with one month access of MB68 plans and 5GB data quota. The MiFi device is made by ZTE and support speeds up to 21Mbps with up to 5 concurrent WiFi users.
After the MB68 plan expires, users can opt to continue using the service by subscribing to MB40, MB68 and MB128. The Prepaid MiFi modem can be purchased at U Mobile service centers.
U Mobile announced its 42Mbps network late last year. The faster speed however is only available in the Klang Valley, selected locations int in the areas of Johor Bahru, Penang, Seremban and Port Dickson.
The operator currently has about 2 million subscribers and 2,000 3G base stations with plans to expand to 4000 base stations by 2013.
