By the numbers: Telcos in Malaysia as of Quarter Two

Most of the telecoms operator in Malaysia(fixed and mobile) have released their numbers for the second quarter ended June 2012.

Check out the important numbers, especially in terms of subscribers and broadband of five key telecommunication operators in Malaysia:

Maxis

  • Prepaid Subscribers: 10.515 (million)
  • Postpaid Subscribers(including Wireless Broadband subs): 3.285 (million)
  • Wireless Broadband Subscribers(including postpaid data plans): 588k
  • Fixed Wireless Broadband(Home Wireless Internet): 27k
  • Home Fibre Internet: 9.4k
  • Network: 3,600 sites HSPA+ enabled(42Mbps), over 2.5k sites ready for LTE(backhaul over 150Mbps)
  • ARPU(Blended): RM52
  • Postpaid ARPU: RM106
  • Prepaid ARPU: RM37
  • Wireless Broadband ARPU: RM66
  • Average Minutes of Usage (Blended): 175
  • Average Minutes of Usage (Postpaid): 341
  • Average Minutes of Usage (Prepaid): 130
  • Total Revenue: RM2,216 billion
  • Non-Voice Revenue: RM942 million or 45%( Include Mobile Internet/VAS, SMS, Wireless Broadband, Devices)
  • EBITDA: RM1,106 (million)
  • Network Capex: RM176 million
  • Profit After Tax: RM466 million (550 million on a normalised basis)

Celcom
