Following a number of rumours, Samsung Mobile finally confirmed that it will launch a smaller version of the Galaxy SIII on October 11.
The smaller Galaxy SIII “mini” will have a large 4″ screen. It may have an entry-level specification and design of the current 4.8″ Samsung Galaxy S III.
“We’ll be launching a 4-inch Galaxy S III on the 11th in Germany,” JK Shin, head of Samsung Mobile Communications said. “There’s a lot of demand for a 4-inch screen device in Europe. Some call it an entry-level device, but we call it ‘mini.'”
The confirmation is just in time as Apple is expected to announced a smaller version of the iPad called iPad Mini with a screen size of 7.85-inch.
In Malaysia, Samsung is set to announced the Galaxy Note II tomorrow which is set to go on sale at RM2299 on October 19. Meanwhile the Samsung Galaxy SIII is available in Malaysia at the retail price of RM1999.
