U Mobile Nano SIM for Postpaid & Prepaid Customers- RM10

iPhone 5 will soon launch in Malaysia and U Mobile does not want to miss out the game. The Malaysia’s smallest Telco has started offering the Nano-SIM Card to its subscribers for RM10 despite that it may not offer the iPhone anytime soon.

For RM10, existing customers can obtain the Nano SIM for U Mobile’s prepaid or postpaid plans. As for customers who intend to get the Nano SIM for the plan they are opting for, they just need to pay and additional RM10 on top of the plan fee. U Mobile Nano SIM is available at all U Mobile outlets nationwide.

The size of SIM or Subscriber Identification Module has evolved over the years as the size and design of mobile devices changed. The first SIM card introduced was in the same size as a credit card. It was further reduced with the same thickness to a Mini SIM. It eventually evolved to the next version called the Micro SIM with dimensions of 15 mm x 12 mm.

The Nano SIM was subsequently introduced in early 2012 with dimensions of 12.3 mm x 8.8 mm x 0.7 mm, which is 15% thinner than its predecessor. The Nano SIMs can be inserted into adaptors for use with devices that utilise Mini SIMs or Micro SIMs.

Maxis was the first to offer the Nano-SIM in Malaysia back in September followed by DiGi and Celcom Axiata.
